Migration to School After Brief Homeschooling

Migration to School After Brief Homeschooling

How to switch to school after a brief homeschooling period?

The pandemic has hit our lives in every small aspect imaginable, education & schooling in particular.

There are 2 ways to go back to school:

1. Many schools (not all) accept homeschooled children depending on their skills and IQ built in the homeschooling years.

Your child is expected to be an all rounder in sports, language, subjects, etiquette, manners, social skills etc.

They conduct tests to assess your child and grant admission.

The question is why is so much expected of a homeschooled child? Simply because they have all the time which a school enrolled child does not. It is possible for them to divide their time evenly in order to do everything and become an all-rounder. This explains planning, time management and the willingness to do something for yourself.

2. NIOS conducts public exams for homeschoolers in grades 3, 5, 8, 10 & 12.

One can appear for these exams and take the results to schools and get admission.

You need to enroll one year in advance for the exams.

For example if your child has given his grade 2 finals now in March of 2022, you need to enroll in NIOS now. This is so that he/she can appear for grade 3 final exam in April 2023.

This week’s topic is how to plan your homeschooling.
